1. There is to be no outbound communications from
the system without prior approval. No servers are to be used or started, and
no program is to be coded to transmit outside the system. HTTP Servers
require pre-approval. Full Timeshare accounts do not require pre-approval for
HTTP access.
2. Accessing or utilizing a majority of
system resources such as CPU and Memory is not allowed. It would require intent
and know-how to accomplish this. Normal activity such as coding, programming,
compiling, etc would not come close to doing this. Monitor your work and jobs.
3. No job is to be left in a
continuous loop unattended, or left hung in the system when you sign off. Free
accounts are limited to one device session. Do not leave programs running or hung in
the system when you sign off, and not notify someone. Software is in place that
automatically ends such programs, but is on a specific delay so it does not
interfere with legitimate jobs. Monitor your work, and cleanup when you're done. No tolerance!!
4. Do not access or attempt to access
administrative resources such as QSECOFR, SST, LICPGM, TCP functions, etc....
Most of these services are publicly excluded, but no one has any business even
attempting to access these. Audit logs are monitored and will show this.
5. Entering or accessing someone else's libraries
without their consent will not be tolerated. If we get a complaint from a user
that their files have been accessed by someone, the audit logs will be checked
and the offending party will be immediately deleted. At the same time, it is
each user's responsibility to secure their own files and libraries using the
EDTOBJAUT command.
6. Free account holders are not to enable auditing on
their files or
libraries. The CHGOBJAUD command is set to public *exclude. This system
feature is for administrative purposes only. System administrators are spending
too much time auditing logs due to everyone's entries in the logs.
Auditing is to be set by an administrator only. If you suspect someone is
accessing your files, then go to the Help Desk
and open a new ticket, and input what information you have concerning the
situation. A System administrator will look into the situation immediately.
7. We do not allow duplicate free accounts. If you are
caught with a duplicate free account, both will be deleted. We have certain TCP
software that monitors this and will alert a system administrator if the system
detects it.
8. Do not create excessive devices on the system.
We have debated on turning off the auto create feature, but we understand that
some people may need to create specific display devices depending on their
individual needs. In this case, do not create more that one device.
9. Free Account users are expected
to log on for the first time and change or update your password within seven
days of creation. On initial creation, the system issues a default password.
This needs to be changed immediately. If you are registering today and don't
plan to log on for the first time till next week, then register next week. You
would be surprised at how many people register a new account, then disappear and
never log on to the system. If you register for the account, use it. Once your
account password has been updated, you're ok.
10. Free Accounts that go unused for more than 70 days
will be deleted and the account's files deleted. We will not maintain your account and files
on the system if you are not going to use them. This can be avoided by
simply logging onto the system at least once every 70 days.
Full timeshare accounts are
permanent for the duration paid regardless of inactivity.
11. Free account holders are not to alter the text description on
their
user profile. Most are set as firstname lastname (email address) for a reason
and will be set for you on account creation. The layout of the text
descriptions on user profiles have hidden meanings to the administrators.
Changing it could signal an administrator that your account has been marked for
deletion. So leave it as it is.
12. If you currently have or intend to register
an account on our system, you are expected to also join our Yahoo group. You can
find a link to join on the home page. This is
important because, this is where we post all messages and information regarding
system changes, service changes or downtimes, and general user information.
Please join the group so that you will be aware when something changes.
13. Files placed or left in QGPL are subject to
deletion. You are welcome to use the library, but if you want to keep your
files, move them to your library. Leaving them in QGPL could result in them
being deleted during our next clean up cycle. Anything left in QGPL is fair game
for deletion. Secure your files.
14. Do not give out your username/password to
other people. Accounts are for your use only. Those caught jeopardizing system
security by sharing account details with multiple people will be deleted.
Accounts are monitored for multiple IP activity, and for origin of connection.
15. If you have any questions, concerns, or
experience any problems, please open a Help Desk
ticket. This system will get you a resolution as quickly as possible. Do not
email an administrator directly. The help desk will do this automatically for
you and give you the opportunity to track the status of your problem, as well as
issue you a tracking reference number. |
